Capacity Building and Training Programs (CBTP) for the Urban Sector in Tamil Nadu under the KfW assisted SMIF-TN II P2 Program: Package I – Urban Water Management. Tamil Nadu Urban Infrastructure Financial Services Limited, Chennai, Government of Tamil Nadu. Modules were developed for each of the 10 regional training programmes; national training programmes and state level workshops. In addition video-knowledge products were developed for all the training programmes, to facilitate learning by other ULB officials, who could not attend the training programmes conducted.
The JV of STEM and the Centre for Environment and Development (CED), Thiruvananthapuram executed this assignment. The CBTP project trained officials from all types of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs); and CMWSSB, DMA, DTP, GCC, TWAD Board and others. Different Capacity Building activities carried out, include:

Regional Training programmes:
- 10 programmes; 25 batches and 1,725 participants.
- On diverse themes such as IoTs, SCADA; Sustainable Water Management; Safe Water; Urban Water Management; Training of Trainers; Software Applications and GIS for Effective Storm Water Drainage and Urban Water Supply Systems; Lifecycle Approach etc.

- Innovations and Emerging Trends in Storm Water and Urban Flood Risk Management.

- Video Knowledge Products: Eleven videos; about 7 minutes duration.
